Join us for the first Lighthouse Center BioBlitz!
A BioBlitz is an intense period of biological surveying in an attempt to record all the living species within a designated area.
BioBlitzes offer the chance for people to visit and learn about the wildlife habitats in our own communities, and see that local landscapes do indeed have biodiversity and are important to conserve. When volunteers and scientists work together in a BioBlitz, they are able to identify uncommon or special habitats for protection and management and, in some cases, rare species may be uncovered.
This BioBlitz will be a great opportunity for curious community members, naturalists, and scientists to meet in person in the great outdoors to have fun learn more about our coastal ecosystems together!
